Parenting Issues

Marriage and Family Issues
As I mentioned earlier, having been in practice for over twenty-seven years, there are few areas of treatment I haven't had extensive experience with. The following are just a few of those areas, but by no means are they a complete list.
It's a huge challenge to be able to create a successful marriage in today's world. Two parent careers, homes to look after, children to raise and their after-school activities to shuttle them to, leave little time or energy left to invest in the emotional intimacy between partners. I believe the greatest gift we can give our children is a healthy and loving relationship between parents. Helping couples and families "get back on track" is one of the most rewarding areas I do in my practice.
Parenting a child is perhaps the most difficult and exhausting jobs on the face of the earth. Children are truly a blessing and yet can often contribute a great deal of stress to a married couple or single parent. I really enjoy working with this challenge because often, by making some, often minor changes in our parenting techniques, the turnaround time for positive results can come rather quickly. It's not unusual to hear a parent say something akin to, "Wow! This really works!"
Few events in life can be more painful than this one. The pain of betrayal can be felt so deeply, couples often feel it's impossible to heal or get beyond it. It's been my experience that much of the time, it is possible with hard work and competent direction.
Working with parents regarding the different phases of child rearing is often brought to my practice. Everything from preschoolers to elementary and secondary young kids, to the "dreaded" junior high years, and let's not forget "boomerang" young people. All can present daunting challenges to parents and how best to deal with the various areas of concern.

Depression and Anxiety
Over the years, a great deal of my practice has been dedicated to helping those who struggle with these challenges. Both can absolutely derail a healthy life, family and career. I've had a great deal of experience with both.
